It’s an interesting observation that Americans talk too much about politics. I would argue that we don’t talk enough about “politics,” and we talk way too much about rehashing ideology. Politics is the art of the possible; it’s how we get to a more technologically advanced society with better schools and a healthier outlook on life. The ideology creeps in because America’s political system has largely stopped talking about politics and is instead focused on dividing the populace into power reservoirs for the political parties to exploit. That’s a really nasty issue of education and culture, and it can’t be solved by chilling out.
